Synergy: Working on Two Computers with One Keyboard/Mouse

2010-06-07 by Falko Schindler, tagged as tools

Synergy is a great tool if you are working on two computers simultaneously and you would like to share one mouse and one keyboard. It comes with a light-weight GUI and is plattform independent.

Debian users can download it via sudo aptitude install synergy quicksynergy.

To connect two or more computers, just go through the following two steps:

  1. Start quicksynergy on the server (or host), fill one of the fields at the Share-Tag with the computer name of the client and hit Execute.
  2. Start quicksynergy on the client, fill in the servers’ IP address at the Use-Tab and press “Execute”.
